This
is Smudge. She is five months old (four months when the picture was
taken) and I have been told she is Cocker Spaniel/Border Collie mix.
Smudge is special because of how quickly she learns! She has already
learned many basic "commands" and it makes her a joy to be with. She is
super calm when she needs to be and wonderfully puppy hyper too!! She
is trying really hard to get a long with the three cats, but right now they
are not sure they like her.
She is fully of personality for a five month old! She loves to play fetch,
she taught herself and thinks there is nothing better than chewing on
her squeaky toys in my lap Lately she thinks that tearing up paper -
any kind, tissues, paper towels, water bottle labels - is the best thing
in the world. She is both affectionate and independent and there is a
very thin line between the two. She loves to be near me, in my sight at
all times and whines when she can not see me or when I am not in the
room, but the only time she is snuggly is when she wants a tummy rub at
4 AM or when she is in my lap chewing on her squeaky toy. She loves to
go on walks and is just now learning to chase the birds. We get to walk
along the river about three times a week and a week after I got her she was
already bonded to me to where I could let her off the leash to play.
Along the walks she loves to chase the butterflies but she is usually
not more than 100 feet from me and when she does wander off, she already
knows the come command and comes bounding back at full speed !
She is very sweet once she gets to know you, but at first she is very
shy, hiding behind me until I let her know it is okay to come out and
say Hi.
