Let's
see, what is so special about Baxter? How about the fact that he
came to us from a rescue. Yep, he was dropped off in a shelter in
California, and spent three miserable weeks there. While they did take
care of him, no one wanted him because he looked "funny". (He's a
Chinese Crested - that's what he's supposed to look like!) He was quite
lucky to be seen by a rescue person who has a group that specializes in
small dog rescue. We were contacted, filled out the forms, and off we
went!
Baxter has turned out to be the perfect companion for our other dog, and
he is great company for us. Now, that is not to say that we have not
had some discussions! Yes, he can sleep under the covers, but he can
not take all of the electric blanket! Sometimes, one has to take their
clothes off and be, well, naked! But, that will only occur just before
a bath, and right after. Once we are dry, the clothes go back on!
Making squeaking noises will not get you the treat faster (okay, it does
not work on me, but it does on my husband, go figure!)
We consider ourselves fortunate that we were picked to take Baxter in.
How boring our house would be without him. Who would wrestle with Jake,
or take nap with my husband? These, are the important jobs Baxter has
responsibility for! He does them quite well, the loveable goofball.
