This
is my German Shepherd Buster, my husband and I live with him in
Charlotte, NC. We rescued Buster when we lived in upstate New York. He
had been running wild in the Massachusetts in the Berkshires and
consequently was picked up and brought to our vet in New York. We had
always had Afghans and we where ready to adopt again. When we went to
our vet, Buster decided to adopt us.
He was a wild guy, but my husband very patiently trained him and now he
has achieved all the basic manners. He will occasionally ignore my
commands when a motorcycle goes by his property or another dog gets too
close to the house, though.
He is 100 pounds. of goofiness, will sing to opera, certain songs and
commercials. He has his toy box and at 3 PM every day he's ready for an
hour of play. He loves his walks, food, frosty paws, food and playing
with kids or anyone that is around, and did I mention food? Loves his
naps too. Patrols the house at night and is a wonderful guard dog. Also
enjoys hanging out at the front door, watching his neighborhood. This is
a sight to behold as he has mastered his skill at flying through his
doggie door. He has been trying to capture a bunny who has taunted him
for six years in the backyard...
Buster is extremely frightened of storms or the threat of rain. When it
thunders, he makes a beeline for the bathtub. I never imagined having a
German Shepherd and now can't imagine life without him. Buster is the
dog of the day every day in our life and we love him dearly.
