This
is our beautiful Sasha. We found her through a breeder of Shetland
Sheepdogs and brought her home when she was only eight weeks old. She was
the first pet to my boys who were five and seven years old at the time Sasha
joined our family.
Sasha always loved to be around people, but wasn't too keen on
socializing with other animals. She was very intelligent and learned
quickly. She understood a lot of what we said and there were times we
had to spell words to avoid getting her excited! Sasha lived to please
us and she did that and more. One of her favorite activities was
playing soccer with "her" boys. She'd run in an open field chasing the
ball, moving it around with her nose and barking in joy! Sasha was very
sensitive and could read our moods and emotions well. If we were sad or
not feeling well, she sat quietly at our side. When we were excited, she
would be too and often barked her enthusiasm to us. Sasha was the light
of our lives and we enjoyed her loyal companionship immensely. Sasha
usually followed us within the house whenever we left a room and she
loved to sleep in a nice sunny spot!
In the Spring of 2004, at the young age of seven years, Sasha became sick
and was diagnosed with a massive liver tumor. We were unable to save
her. We miss her every day, but take comfort in the many photographs
and videotapes we have of her. She was a very special and beautiful
little girl in our lives and we'll never forget her.
