About Us
Patch, the Dog of the Day
Name: Patch
Age: Six years old
Gender: Male Breed: Rough Collie
Home: Chicago, Illinois, USA

Patch was rescued just after Hurricane Katrina and ended up in Atlanta, Georgia after the Storm with the help of Collie Rescue of Georgia. My last Collie had just died about a month before and I missed him greatly. I called all around and found out about Patch, down in Georgia. He was fairly badly injured and had several Patches on his wounds. Hence, the name Patch!

I think God placed dogs on earth to teach us humans "unconditional love," an area we sometimes have trouble with. Patch still hates thunderstorms and rain, but is a total delight. Collie Rescue had done a good job helping him recover, which he finished after moving to Chicago with me.

He has now taken over my entire bed and actually throws me off the bed, but I don't mind. He always knows when I am upset and comes to my side to comfort me. He loves all people, especially his dog walker and friend Tim. He really hates garbage trucks and the only time he barks is when one goes by. Patch is just a beautiful and wonderful dog!
