Rosie
is the light of our lives. She came to live with us about a year
ago and very quickly worked her way into our hearts. Rosie is a bundle
of energy and a cuddle bug. She is my best friend and my shadow.
Rosie has many quirks that make her very endearing. When she jumps in
bed she turns into the "Spaz-manian Devil". She lies on her back,
squirms all over the place, snorts, nips at anything in her way, all
while flailing her arms & legs like crazy. But after a couple minutes
she tires herself out and then turns into a cuddle bug.
For the first few months when she came to live with us she rarely
barked, then overnight she found her voice. Now she barks at her toys,
the neighbors, a leaf blowing in the wind, the cats, and if, heaven
forbid, you aren't paying any attention to her - you!
Rosie loves her food. She eats every morsel of kibble barely chewing
it. She especially loves her cookies & carrots. She also loves her
toys. She has a large basket full of them and will tip the basket over,
toys spilling everywhere, and will rummage until she finds the specific
toy she wants.
Rosie and I go for really long walks. We live near a wonderful park
and Rosie loves going there. People will stop and dote on her and that
is what she really likes, she is not so keen on the walking part. In
warm weather Rosie will only walk for a few minutes then dart for any
shade and flop down and not get up. Sometimes I end up carrying
her. In the real heat Rosie snorts and sputters so loud that
people passing by do a double take, surprised that such a little body
could make such sounds.
At the end of Rosie's busy day she loves to snuggle up on my lap and
fall asleep. It is obvious when she is tired, her forehead loses its
wrinkles, her ears seem to droop lower on her head, and her eyelids
appear very, very heavy. She'll nuzzle her nose right into my lap, nod
off, and the snoring begins.
We love our Rosie girl more than anything, she means the world to us!
Rosie's message: Please take care of your pets, get them
spayed/neutered, adopt a rescued animal, treat all animals with love and
respect.
