Peanut'll
lick your face until you are wet, and if you leave the house
for two minutes, she acts like you've been gone a year. Peanut loves
pickles, tomatoes and of course, peanut butter. But mostly, she loves
sucking on her white teddy bear "Barry White" (in the photo). Her name is
Peanut because when she was little she was shaped like one.
Peanut is very affectionate. She knows when you are happy, sad, mad,
etc. Recently I hurt my back and was laid up. She would stay with me
all day on the couch and lick me whenever I would grimace in pain.
She loves Frisbee, but mostly likes to play keep-away. She'll grab my
sports page and run around the coffee table, knowing I'll chase her. She
also likes playing with her older sister, a cat named Hallie. Peanut
is three times Hallie's size, but doesn't know it. Hallie chases her all
over the house.
She's very smart. If my girlfriend oversleeps, I'll say, "Upstairs,
wake mommy." And she'll bolt upstairs and lick mom to wake her. (She
hates being awake while everyone's asleep. She can't be alone.)
I was a self-proclaimed "cat person" until we took Peanut home. We both
love her so much. I never understood what dog owners meant when they
said, "My dog's my baby." Now I know what they mean. She really is my
child. Most of the time, I don't even think of her as a dog. She's
just my little girl.
