Introducing
Vegemite aka Veggie. Veggie is just about the cutest,
sweetest dog anyone could ever wish for. He has been with me for almost
a year now and my life has been a lot more exciting since he arrived!
Veggie is such an active and curious dog that there is never a dull
moment, and he is constantly keeping me on my toes. Whether taking a
long walk, visiting the dog park or just riding in the car he is always
making new friends. He even managed to make friends with my cat Dave!
As I mentioned, Veggie loves going to the dog park to play tug-of-war,
splash around in the baby pools they have, or just run around with the
other dogs. And the bigger the dog the better! Veggie may not be a Great
Dane, but sometimes he thinks he is...he is rarely intimidated by any
dog no matter the size, and he loves to chase and be chased. He also
loves taking car rides, visiting the beach and playing in the snow (when
we get any!).
Veggie's personality is enough to make him a very special dog, but I
find him even more so for a very particular reason. I adopted Veggie
right before my boyfriend left for a deployment in Iraq, and having him
around really helped me get through those seven months. He was always
there to give me kisses, cuddle with me on the couch and keep me active
and occupied. I can only imagine how lonely I might have been if I did
not have my Veggie (and Dave) to keep me company. And when my boyfriend
came back, Veggie was there to greet him with a wagging tail and a puppy
kiss!
