This
is my Great Dane, Edison - usually called Eddie, for short. He is
seven months old in this photo but is now almost ten months, too tall to
straddle and weighs 150-160 (can't get him on a scale). Eddie's a
Harlequin (black and white) Great Dane with one blue eye and one brown
eye. Eddie likes to play ball, go for walks in the neighborhood but
especially loves to chase critters - fliers or hoppers (butterflies,
birds and bunnies).
I purchased Eddie from a reputable, local breeder last summer when he
was just two weeks old and took him home at six weeks when he weighed sixteen
pounds. We are very close and every day, I look forward to going home
just to see him!
Great Danes are one of the largest breeds of dogs, but when you have
them as puppies and watch them grow up, it's not as big of an
adjustment, I don't think. I'm in love with this breed of dog and can't
imagine ever having anything else. Their disposition is sweet, gentle
and loyal, regardless of their size. Edison is just great.
