My
pet, Liquorice is a Flatcoated Retriever and has a list of things
that makes her very special. She is a New Years baby. She was born on
the 1st of January 2006, so she'll celebrate her first birthday one of
these days. When she was eleven weeks old she flew all on her own from
Denmark to South Africa without losing her happy, friendly, outgoing
nature on the way. She is the most loving, friendly and happy to please
animal I have ever known. She greets everybody (budgie, hamster, cat or
dog) with a frantically wagging tail and when possible a loving lick of
the face. She loves swimming and spends a great part of her day rescuing
anything that happens to be in the swimming pool (i.e. her ball, toy,
any unsuspecting child and of course the hard working "Creepy
Crawly"-pool cleaner.)
She lives in the beautiful town of Stellenbosch in South Africa and
enjoys her daily walk in the surrounding vineyards. Her biggest buddy is
Cosmo, a 6month old Jack Russell Terrier and the "love" of her life is
Tiger, a stunning black Labrador with whom she visits and chases around
every now and then. She gives so much to our family, while asking so
little. She is one fantastic dog and we love her to bits! We would love
to hear from any other Flatcoated Retriever owners who currently live in
South Africa.
