This
is my precious baby, Maggie Mae. She is a dwarf schnauzer, which
means she's a bit smaller than a miniature schnauzer. I don't know if
they have that size breed in the United States, but here in Canada it is
quite common, almost as much as miniature schnauzers. I got Maggie as a
gift from my two sisters and one my aunts after my other baby, Benji, a
terrier-poodle mix, died. I had him for almost sixteen years.
I live with my elderly father, and at first he didn't want another dog
in the house, then he changed his mind and when Maggie came into our
home, she stole his heart (and mine). During the day she keeps him
company while I'm at work, and sits on his lap whenever she can.
She is the sweetest little dog, she loves everybody and all animals,
especially my younger sister's two pugs, Kenya and Vegas. I say she is
my baby because she loves to be in my arms and be rocked like a real
baby. She loves to give kisses and sings (howls) to greet me when I come
back from work. She even plays by herself with her toys, taking every
single one out of the basket, and skips in the air like a little lamb.
When you hold her close and talk softly to her she will lower her head
and act like she's shy and on occasion, she will even put her paw on
your cheek. She has me (and my dad) wrapped around her little paw.
Maggie is a very big part of our family. She is the sweetest dog ever.
In this picture, Maggie was almost six months old and my sister, who is a
photographer, took this picture.
She's a little angel that Benji sent me from Heaven and I hope I get to
keep her in my life as long as I kept him.
