About Us
Wally, the Dog of the Day
Name: Wally
Age: Two years old
Gender: Male Breed: Beagle, Heeler
Home: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA

This is Wally (Waldo Antonio). He turned two years old in March 2007 and basically is a mutt - but primarily Beagle and Heeler (Australian Cattle Dog). Wally's parents were rescued by B.R.E.W. (Beagle Rescue, Education and Welfare) when mom was pregnant. We've been his lucky family since he was eight weeks old and such a cute little tyke!

As he's grown, Wally has exhibited the best of both his predominant breeds: the loving, curious nature of the Beagle and the smart, tell-me-what-to-do-next attitude of the ACD/Heeler.

He has his Canine Good Citizen and Therapy Dog International certifications and soon will be brightening the days of children in the hospital and teens at risk.

He loves, loves, loves agility and obedience classes. He knows lots of tricks and loves to entertain. He can count to three, and is a little obsessive about tennis balls. Small as he is (25 pounds), he still has that ACD/Heeler determination to run things.

We thought we were doing a good thing by "rescuing" this pup - but we were the lucky ones!
