Hi,
I'm Zen, the Shetland Sheepdog. I'm three months old and have lived
with my new dad for about a month. He loves me lots 'cause I'm his first
dog. I also live with a cat my dad has had for the past thirteen years. She and
I have met, but all I hear is growling and hissing - he's not very nice.
When I bark at her, I'm only trying to say hello! I even wag my tail!
I like to play with all sorts of toys. I especially like to chase the
laser pointer. Eventually, I will catch that red dot. I will try and fetch
a toy if thrown, but I'm not very good at bringing it back. Dad is also
trying to crate train me, and I'm getting pretty good at it.
Dad takes me to the park a lot, too, and everyone says how cute I am. They
also ask if I am a collie puppy, a mini-collie, a toy collie, even a
border collie! I want to turn around and proudly bark, "I'm a Shetland
Sheepdog!!" We even try to run a little bit. Dad says we're going to try
agility when I get older, so I guess he's getting me ready. I also like to
watch the ducks, geese, and squirrels. I'm finally old enough to go into
the dog park for small dogs where I can go into "zoomie mode" and run
around as fast as I want.
