Fido
(pronounced F-EE-Do) recently moved to Tucson, AZ from Sardinia,
Italy! The photo was taken as part of a fund raiser for a local animal
organization.
Fido is a Cairn Terrier and a Yorkie mix. He started sleeping on the
stoop of our house in Italy. My husband and I thought he was abandoned
and after we confirmed with the local vet and fishermen that told us
Fido's name, we took him in, gave him a bath and some good ol' fashion
love. Until one day we met a man in town who said that Fido was his dog!
We followed the man home and saw the conditions and the abusive
situation he was living in. We promptly took Fido out of his arms and
registered him in our name. When we made the move back to the United
States Fido got his doggie passport and came with us.
Fido loves to play fetch and swim. He loves belly rubs and squeaky toys.
Fido is very smart and he is trained (his mommy is a dog trainer) but we
are in the process of teaching him the English commands. He will do
anything for roast chicken and pizza (he is Italian!) Fido plays like a
big dog, but loves like a lap dog. Fido made a seamless transition into
our family and even brought out the pup in our other dog, Sofie. While
he is defiantly a mamma's boy, when he wants to play he goes straight to
