This
is Dixie - "Triple D" which is short for Dixie Doodle Dogger if you
really must know. Dixie is a very proper lady, and is always ready to
cross her feet or pose for the camera. In this picture Dixie is in her
favorite location in the world, in her basket to sunbathe in the morning
sun. She generally gets dragged around in her basket to align with the
incoming sun through the window, as she tired of moving her basket
herself. When she is not lying in the basket, she is sleeping on the
bed or on the couch if there is a blanket laid out for her - the leather
is too slick!
Although Dixie is a bird dog, she has taken a liking to squirrels that
we could not break. Luckily she does not have a mean streak and would
prefer to sit and point at the squirrels as they run around in the
backyard and steal birdseed. In fact, several times when the squirrels
actually got within a few inches of her she was tough would not break
her point and let her parents know they were actually friends and would
play together when she was alone.
Dixie loves to swim, camp, hike and fish... and is pretty much a mountain
girl. Dixie has been the best dog in the world, and we look forward to
many more years of fun in the sun and mountains with her. Since she is
a pointer - we know she has about ten more years of puppy life in her to
keep us busy.
