Layla,
as you may have guessed, is named for the Eric Clapton song of
that name. She is special to me because she is such a loving companion.
I retired last year and Layla and I enjoy hanging out at home. She
kisses me goodbye whenever I leave and greets me when I come home.
Layla has deformed ears so she is not the "perfect" bulldog. She cannot
be "shown" or bred. She is, however, the perfect pet. She is very much
like me. We don't like exercise. We don't like to be too warm. We are
motivated by food. We both love the Yankees. We like to sleep late.
We both have bad knees. Layla is the perfect dog for me, and I just hope
I am the perfect human for her.
