This
is Ophelia, she is the most loving dog in the universe! Seriously,
is she not a beauty!?!
My honey Michael and I are so in love with this girl! He found her in a
shelter and rescued her. He told me he went there to get a kitten, but
he walked by her cage and she did this thing that she still does (and
I've seen lots of dogs do too, but of course we think it's cutest when
she does it!!!) When he put his nose up to the cage, she (at six weeks
old) tossed herself onto her front paws, splaying them out like she was
just getting ready to PLAY PLAY PLAY! And just like that, his heart was
stolen ... no kitten for him!
We don't have a very clear notion of what she is, though she is
largely Rhodesian Ridgeback. We think there is something else
going on, although breeders have confirmed the vast variances that can
occur in the breed. She doesn't have a ridge! So we think that was why
she was put in the shelter ... and we don't care if she doesn't have a
ridge!! She is our beauty!
She is loving and smart (she can "speak" on command and roll over and
loves to have her tummy rubbed for ages.) I say it's not for her I do
it, it's for me!!!) Ophelia is eight years old and is fit and
healthy. We try not to overfeed her or feed her stuff that is not her
proper food. We walk her all the time because we have a small apartment
except for this little yard out front (which is not fenced). As you can
see she loves to play catch! She is such a light in our lives.
