Joey
(Geelo's Jokima Little 3 Dots) is a two-year-old Chinese Crested. He
came to us from a friend who used to breed Chinese Cresteds in
Tennessee. Today, Joey lives in Rhode Island with his big sister Gabby
(German Shepard) and his little sister Mimi (Chinese Crested).
Joey came home with us at Thanksgiving time in 2005. He snuggled with
his big sister all the way home on that 20 hour drive, and when we got
home, he found that his favorite place to cuddle was on mom's shoulder,
with his little head tucked under her chin. At a whopping three pounds, he
wasn't a burden to carry around all day.
Joey's biggest hurdle was potty training - but I think a big part of
that is because he is deaf. It certainly doesn't phase him any, and
he knows how to bark at the door when he realizes that one of his
sisters is barking.
Joey learned how to sit in just a few short training sessions, and he
learned to lie down really quickly too. He knows his name (a hand
signal) and he knows how to come when we sign to him. Of course, he also
knows that if he looks the other way, he can pretend that he didn't see
us asking him to do something. He sure has an attitude!
In the pictures, he was sitting with me on the swing in our back yard,
supervising his sisters. He is quite a good supervisor, don't you think?
