Cruiser
was a rescue Bichon. The first year and a half of his life was
pretty miserable for him. He lived in a cage. He was finally returned to
his breeder and she wasn't sure what to do with him due to his lack of
socialization. I took him in with the idea of just making him a pet. But
with the help of my old beagle mix and the three Bichons of a friend,
Cruiser soon learned how to be a "dog". He learned to "go"outside, to
play with toys and to be confident.
With some conformation training, Cruiser actually did pretty good in the
show ring and eventually earned his championship. That was a proud
accomplishment for this little guy. Now he is retired from that, and is
"just" my buddy! He digs in the back yard garden, barks at his grandpa
(my dad) for snacks and is just the most lovable and loyal dog.
