Our
dog, Bearon, is seven years old and is a German Spitz. After our
fourteen year old pomeranian passed away, we went to Small Dog Rescue and
found Bearon. He was a very friendly dog. He started off having some
"anxiety issues" but they were soon resolved after he realized we always
came home for him.
What makes him so special is he is a very happy dog, who loves going
"bye-bye" anywhere, anytime, even if he has to stay in the car. He
especially loves going "walkie-walkie." We have never known a dog to "lift
his leg" so many times in a short span of time like Bearon. On one
half-hour hike on Tubbs Hill near Lake Coeur d'Alene, he "lifted his leg"
almost 70 times!
He likes to be the center of attention and will do almost anything to be
noticed. Of course, people think he is so cute, that he eventually gets
the petting he is seeking. He freely gives out kisses, because he is such
a loving dog. And for a treat he will: Sit / Shake / Lay Down / Rollover
in five seconds flat. If you pat your chest, he will quickly and smoothly
jump into your arms.
He loves his backyard and regularly dashes out his doggy door at the speed
of light to chase after some squirrel that is climbing up the bird feeder.
He loves to wrestle with anyone, especially our cat, Maxie. Visitors
always laugh when they see those two wrestling in a playful way. We take
him out on our kayaks and as you can see from one of his photos, he
frequently sits on the front scoping the lake for geese. (Yes, we put a
life jacket on him, because he regularly falls in after spotting some
geese.) He also goes fishing with us and runs back and forth in the boat
looking for fish. He has brought so much pleasure in our lives.
