Our
(Lauren and Andrew) dog's name is Addie Mae. She is ten weeks old in
this picture, and she is a black lab brindle mix.
We found Addie while she was nine weeks old on the side of the road next
to an abandoned house. She had a brother and sister that was with her,
as well as her owner that was trying to sell her for a small price. We
talked to the owner about the dogs and were trying to decide if we
wanted to get one of the dogs. Lauren and I are both in college so money
is very tight, and though we've talked about getting a dog, it would
seem financially impossible. While looking at the dogs, we both looked
at Addie and pointed at her. Right after we pointed at her, Addie cocked
her head to the side and stuck her paw out to us, as if she wanted or
knew that she was coming home with us. I immediatley looked at Lauren
and we wanted her right away, so we got Addie.
For the first week that we had Addie, she was a trooper traveling
between different houses for the holidays as it was right before
Christmas. She has touched everyone's life that she has met. We took
Addie back to my house to show the skeptical parents, and as soon as my
mom saw Addie's beautiful face, her heart melted along with her doubt.
Next we took Addie back to Lauren's parents house, and ever since her
mom saw her all she wants us to do is go run errands so she can be alone
and play with Addie. She's playing with her right now! All of our
friends love Addie and are more than happy to help us raise her. They
have volunteered their time and money to help us with Addie. There could
not be a better dog for us than Addie Mae.
