We
adopted Lily from our local shelter after losing our beloved dog of eleven
years. We had never had a larger dog, or a black one, but when we arrived
at the shelter, Lily had just been surrendered. She was lying quietly on
the floor, very subdued. We fell in love with her beautiful, glossy coat
and clear, searching gaze. We were told she's a Border Collie-Lab mix.
Lily quickly has become comfortable at home, exploring all the furniture,
trying to chase birds, jumping on the bed to greet us in the morning, and
trying to get in the pond. Although she looks mature, she is still a puppy
and eager to play and please. And although she is very smart, she cannot
understand why that black dog in the mirror won't come and play with her!
She barks, howls, and growls at her reflection until I have to cover the
mirror. Silly girl!
