Voltaire, the Dog of the Day
Name: Voltaire
Age: Four and a half years old
Gender: Male Breed: Welsh Terrier
Home: Dijon, France

This is Voltaire, a lovable scoundrel (rascal) of four and a half years. Voltaire came into our French-German family as a puppy and is now living on the French country-side in the North-East of the country. He had his name by a French breeder since all puppies born in 2004 had to have names beginning with a "V" (as per French regulations). We haven't found out yet in which respect he reminds his namesake! Since he is living in a mixed French-German family, this name is quite suitable!

Voltaire is always in a cheerful mood and adores wild games with "his" children. In fact, Voltaire is part of a gang of three (grand)-children, aged 9, 12 and 15 years old, whom he adores, since there is always action around them. His true mistress, however, is the grandma of the threesome with whom he takes long walks and rides bicycle (on the leash). Voltaire is very affective, and after having had a good romp with the children he likes nothing better than watching TV on a large sofa sitting in the middle of his pack. His mistress believes him to be trilingual, and - being a good boy - he tries to be obedient in three languages - but he is a terrier as well! And he keeps us busy all the day long with his funny tricks. Not being trained to hunt he contents himself with putting up and tracking lizards or frightening the neighbor's hen.
