We'd
like to introduce our beautiful girl, Sasha. Sasha is a wonderful
dog! She is an eight-year old Rottweiler and my daughter Allison, who
is also eight, loves to play toss-and-retrieve with her. We adopted Sasha
from an animal rescue group; it was so sad because she was already an
older dog and no one wanted her. Her first owners didn't care for her
very well, and Sasha was left in the muddy backyard most of the time.
However, she loves everyone and has become best friends with all the
kids in the neighborhood. She also likes playing with her squeaky
toy "babies." Our two cats, Ricky and Lucy, aren't so sure that she
wants to be friends, although she is a gentle giant.
I hope that more people consider adopting older dogs and giving them a
second chance - they deserve to enjoy their senior years in comfort and
with good care. Sasha came with perfect house manners; she doesn't
chew, bark or bite and knows her basic commands. That's one of the many
advantages to adopting an older dog - often they are pre-trained. Sasha
is such a sweetheart, we cannot imagine ever giving her up!
