Our
pet is Chewie, a ten-year-old long-haired dachshund mix. We live in
small town near Houston, Texas. Chewie is special in so many ways! We
rescued him from "death row!"
He was only one day away from being put down at a local vet clinic.
Someone dropped him off because they couldn't take care of him and the
clinic cannot keep dogs or cats for more than a few days.
Also, Chewie can actually smile when we tell him to! He just looks up at
us and grins showing us his teeth like a human! It is pretty amazing!
Our kids are grown and living on their own and I am thankful I have
Chewie to fill the void! He is, after all, just like one of our children!
