It's
Valentine's Day, and the World's Sweetest Puppy gets the World's
Biggest Toy! Meet Emma, our Havanese puppy. Emma's AKC name is
Windfall's The Sweetest Thing. In our opinion, it fits her perfectly.
Born February 16, 2007, Emma is from Windfall Havanese, whose dogs are
raised in a loving home. Well-socialized from birth, Emma adapted to
our family immediately.
Havanese dogs are, by nature, people-oriented, loving, playful, and
funny. Emma has a unique sense of humor. She is interested in
everything we do, and wriggles her way in: between me and my book
or between my husband and his woodworking project, so that she has a
close-up view of what's going on.
Every morning Emma wants an ice cube, and comes flying into the kitchen
when she hears the ice tray rattle. Ice cubes are great for chasing,
licking, and crunching! In the afternoon, Emma "delivers the mail." As
each envelope is opened, we hand it to Emma, who shakes, shreds and
scatters it in a blur of growling energy.
Emma also knows how to read. Several weeks before Christmas last year,
my husband and I heard paper tearing, and turned to see Emma
enthusiastically ripping into the toy we'd wrapped and placed under the
tree for her! The package was marked "To Emma, From Santa."
In addition to knowing the names of her favorite toys and bringing each
when asked, Emma obeys hand signals for "Sit," "Shake," "Down," and
"Stay."
With a name like The Sweetest Thing, Emma gets lots of Valentine's Day
gifts, then will celebrate her first birthday two days later. Happy
Valentine's Day to Everyone from The World's Sweetest Girl!
