Rudy
is a very special boy. He received his Therapy Dog certificate
last summer and has brought happiness to many people in nursing homes.
He is a very affectionate and wants to be close by my side whether at
home or visiting. I had several brain surgeries in the past year,
and he definitely helped me get through it. I think he became part of
our family so I would have someone to watch over me while I was
recovering. I'm glad that I can give back now and have him bring
comfort to other people in the nursing homes.
Rudy loves cats too. We have five cats, and they are all bonded with Rudy.
He lets them cuddle up beside him. He loves to play with the cat toys
and chase the laser light just like the cats do. It's funny to watch
them all play together. Five cats and one big dog all playing the same.
He doesn't know too many tricks, but he'll give you a "High 5" and shake
your hand. His personality is so sweet that he wins your heart without
having to do tricks. I can't imagine life without him.
At night Rudy takes his "blankie" to bed with him. He does this every
night and holds it in his mouth like a pacifier until he falls asleep.
I don't think there would be a better Dog of the Day than Rudy.
