This
is our beloved Rocky, the gentlest PitBull in the world! We
rescued him. His previous owners adored him, but when their homeowner's
insurers found out what breed his is, they threatened to cancel their
policy outright.
His parents were beside themselves. They were going to give him to a
local shelter, but very few shelters where we live adopt out Pits or any
of the 'Bully' breeds. We found out about his plight and their intended
solution in the last minute and met them on the actual parking lot of
the shelter.
He and we fell in love immediately. He is the happiest, calmest, most
adoring animal ever. He is obviously at least mostly Pit Bull, but he is
the gentlest dog you have ever heard of. He will not even play rough
with us; it just confuses him. We have a little mixed terrier less than
half his size, and she bullied him while he was growing up. Now they are
brother and sister to the end.
We have pictures of Rocky playing or lounging with all of the kids in
our neighborhood just in case anyone ever tries to label him 'vicious'
or an aggressive dog.
Every one of our neighbors who walks their dog in our neighborhood knows
and likes him. He is a beautiful silver-tan and iridescent in sunlight.
He has yellow eyes which are funny when he smells a gal dog, because
they get real wide. He is the gentlest guy in the world!
