Brodie, the Dog of the Day
Name: Brodie
Age: Twelve years old
Gender: Male Breed: Shetland Sheepdog
Home: Thornhill, Ontario, Canada

This is Brodie - the best dog ever. We got him when he was just a silly little puppy. When we brought him home from the breeder and gave him a bath, he sat town in the tub and tried to drink the water. And now look at the beautiful dog that he has become.

Brodie is a Shetland Sheepdog and he is 12 years old, though he still acts like a puppy - he has baskets of toys all over the house because he is so spoiled. His favorite toys are his fluffy soccer ball and hamburger - because he loves to eat.

Brodie is a quirky, independent, free spirit - he rarely ever listens to you, unless you have food, of course, he enjoys rolling around the living room on his back, and he especially loves it when his Dad gives him "back scrubs."

When Brodie is out of the house he is very well behaved, but in the comfort of his own home he loves to play, bark, and run around, especially in the back yard. He'd make an excellent watch dog too, if he didn't love napping so much. He will also bark at you if you sneeze or when you take the lint trap out of the clothes dryer.

Everything Brodie does has to be "his idea." If you tell him to "come" he will just look at you, dawdle around a little, and mosey on over whenever it suits him. He is very stubborn, but it's just a part of his charm. Brodie has so many crazy nicknames it's a wonder he knows his name at all. "Bodini" is the most popular, but he's sometimes referred to as Spodalini or Bodie. His Mom has even been known to call him her Little Italian Meatball.

Brodie has two budgie brothers, Echo and Joey. You'll often find him with bird seeds stuck to his nose because he is so curious and nosy. He has to be right in the middle of everything. Whether you're doing dishes or opening Christmas presents, he just loves to be right in the thick of things. Brodie is also a very happy-go-lucky kind of guy. He is always smiling. Sometimes it looks like he's laughing.

Although Brodie can be a little "goofy," he is loved by the entire family. His Mom, Dad, Brother and Sister even argue over who loves him the most. He is the quirkiest dog you'll ever meet, and is loved by everyone who meets him.
