Our
family's dogs are always so special. When you have a dog, you don't
realize how much impact they have on your life until they're gone. As a
whole family, coming home from work or school was just torture without a
wagging tail greeting you. When we had to put our eight-year-old
springer/lab down, our whole family was devastated.
Then my family got a yellow lab puppy, whom we named Stella, and we were
just over-joyed. Stella is now 1 1/2 years old, and mostly a puppy still.
She is definitely a joy to have around, with her great energy and fun
spirit. Stella loves to play fetch, whether with a frisbee, a stick, a
tennis ball, she could care less. Stella is the baby of the family, and is
totally spoiled. She is allowed in every room, and on every couch. She
also travels almost everywhere with us. She loves the car. You say the
word car, and she is jumping for joy running for the door.
Stella's favorite hobby is swimming, though. When we are on vacation by a
lake or any water at all, she is constantly wet. She'll probably bring you
a huge stick to throw for her, or she'll be just as happy just swimming in
circles. Stella also loves shoes, or practically anything to play "keep
away." Everybody loves Stella with her young energy, and her love for
everyone and everything. She loves to play with the neighbor's Doberman.
When she was younger without our fence, she used to go to the neighbor's
back door and bark to play. The neighbor then would let their dog out, and
they would have a blast playing together. Now with the fence, the neighbor
dog has to come over here to play with Stella. We love Stella, and
couldn't imagine life without her.
