This
is Goomba. He is a loveable Australian shepherd mix with stumpy
little legs and a curly tail. Goomba loves people. Whenever someone new
comes into the backyard, especially children, he gets an excited look in
his eyes and can't wait to show them around.
Goomba is also very loyal. He will follow you around the backyard, stop
when you stop, and try to lend a hand whenever possible. He especially
likes to help me empty the pool's leaf baskets.
I call Goomba a "social chewer." He normally won't chew on sticks, but if
someone is in the backyard and doing something that doesn't involve giving
him attention, he will lie down and chew a stick to pass the time.
His favorite thing in the world is to go on walks. All I have to do is
ask, "do you want to go for a walk?" With that, he is spinning around and
running towards the gate all while looking back at me every few seconds
just to make sure I'm serious and that I'm coming too.
Goomba is also very caring. When I was screaming bloody murder after a
wasp had stung the bottom of my foot, Goomba became very concerned and
stared into my eyes with a "how can I help you, girl?" look on his face.
It was very sweet.
