This
is my Shanook, he is a very handsome man and knows it. He was neutered
as soon as we could have it done safely, because he thinks he's the man of the
house, even against my husband. He thinks he's the king dog!
Shanook very energetic and very headstrong. He is a mom's boy, too. When she
is around, he listens to only her. He likes to see how far he can push his
dad. Shanook knows what buttons to push. Sometimes it's like they are arguing
about which is the alpha man! Mom always says she's gonna put them both in
kennel until they settle. Shanook loves his dad, though, and they have their
own special times, too. And when dad doesn't spend time enough with Shanook,
Shanook makes it well known!
Shanook loves to tease the Siamese cat, her name is Tia Rose. Shanook and Tia
love to get each other in trouble. Shanook just sometimes gets too rough and
we have to settle him. We don't want Tia getting hurt! But if a stray gets in
Shanook's yard, look out, he will attack! No strays are allowed in his yard.
Tia is the only cat allowed.
Shanook is so strong and full of energy that a lot of people are afraid of
him. But one buddy of his will go out and play and wrestle with him in the
yard and that is his friend Scott. They are the best of buds.
Shanook is a beautiful boy, as you can see in the photo, but people need to
know this breed has so much energy and they have to have ways to burn it off.
They are head strong and they don't give in to some things easily. They do seem
to take to one person mainly, and will protect that person more than anyone.
And when Shanook gets something in his head, you can't always get his
mind off it. Stubborn is an understatement.
But don't get me wrong - Shanook can be the biggest baby, too. He gives hugs and
gentle kisses and he cuddles up with his mom a lot.
