We
were at the local animal shelter (which is, sadly a high kill shelter)
and I saw a cute spaniel mix. I went over to bend down and see him then
when I looked into his eyes I knew this sweet little six-month-old pup was
special. I asked about him and he was a stray who was to be euthanized the
next morning. I asked my husband (who really didn't want to go to the
shelter and really didn't ever think about getting a dog) to come see him.
My husband bent down and said, "Hey boy whatcha doing?" and Boomer talked
to him... not once but three times, not bark or howl but talked like "ow
ow owwwww" and "ar ar arrrrrr." Well, my husband went nuts, got the guy
who worked there and said "Get my dog out of there!"
The guy told my husband "He isn't your dog, he is a stray," and my husband
said "He is my dog now!" and the rest is history!
The funny thing is, Boomer has never spoken again the way he did that day.
My husband thinks God spoke, through Boomer, to get my husband's
attention. Boomer is the love of our family, and even though he doesn't
talk now, he will bow for the camera or even for company... I am so glad
we found him.
