Hi
to all pet lovers. Let me introduce to you my son Coby Chao and tell
you how I got him. I believe he is a gift from the Most High to keep me
company when my daughters are away from home for their further studies.
I remember the evening this boy came into our family while I was having
dinner with my cousins outside. I received phone call from my younger
daughter, who said that a dog kept following her and she asked what she
should do. I told her to try to get out of the dog's sight as I did not
intend to have pet at the time. As I received no further call from my
daughter, I thought she got rid of the dog. But as I arrived home, the two
(my daughter and the dog) were sitting in front of the gate. The time was
around nine at night and I did not have the hard heart to leave a dog
wandering in the street at night. So I took him to the nearby pet salon
(luckily this pet salon closed late) and gave the dog a bath before taking
him home, while I and my daughter went to supermarket to buy the food and
things for him for the next day.
When I told my husband over the phone about the dog, he did not like the
idea of keeping him, but since it was late at night, he agreed to give him
a place to rest. I gave this dog towel to sleep on near the kitchen and
surprisingly, he was very quiet and well behaved for the whole night.
Early the next morning, I took him out for a walk for him to do his
"business." From that day onward, this becomes my routine, to bring him
out for a walk twice a day.
As no one put up posters looking for him or asked for missing dog, our
family adopted him and ever since everyone in the family loves him to
pieces.
In the beginning I gave him canned food but as we were afraid that the
canned food might have unhealthy preservatives, we changed from canned
food to home cooked (his favorites are chicken, duck and fish) with
vegetables added, and this is followed by fruit after dinner. If he eats
every piece in the bowl, he will be given treats!
Now that my girls are going to University in UK, and I enjoy staying home
knitting and playing online games, this boy keeps me busy and company. My
husband has his own hobbies, such as photography and ballroom dancing.
Therefore I am usually home alone, but now with Coby.
The age of my boy is uncertain but I have had him for nine years now and
hope to have him for many years to come. I thank God for giving me this
baby to keep me company and bring me the joy that no money can buy.
