This
is Roxie. She is a new addition to our family. She is five years old
and is a collie/lab mix. We adopted her from a foster family. All we know
about her breed is that we were told she is part collie and part black
lab. We can only speculate on what other breeds may be mixed in. We have
suspected husky too with the curly tail. She had been with her other
family for the first five years of her life, until they lost their home
and couldn't keep her anymore. She has only been with us for a short time,
but she is a wonderful animal. She is gentle with our other two dogs
(Cavalier King Charles Spaniels), enjoys teasing our cats and she is very
loving with our daughter.
She is completely housebroken, but loves to be outdoors. When she's out,
she can be seen picking up one of her toys and throwing it up in the air
so she can chase it again. She rushes to see us when we arrive home at the
end of the day. We couldn't have asked for a better addition to our
family. We love her very much!
Roxie is such a good natured dog. She is great with our ten-year-old
daughter. She has a very mellow personality. She is also very independent.
If she wants to be alone she will walk away and go lay down away from
people. And when she wants something, she sits and stares at you and puts
her paw on your knee. She has a stuffed cat toy that she likes to play
with and will catch it if you throw it in the air. Other than that, the
only other thing she plays with is her rawhide bones. She absolutely loves
them. We have three dogs and we always give one to each of them. The other
two will chew on them occasionally and then move on to do other things.
But Roxie seems to think she needs to have all of them around her. As soon
as one of the other dogs leaves their bone alone, Roxie will go take it
and put it with hers. Then she will lay next to them or put her paw on
them. Each day, she waits for my husband to come home from work to take
her for a walk. As soon as she hears him come in, she is ready to go!
