This
is My Lil' Oliver. He's an eleven-year-old Cocker Spaniel and just the best
little dog ever. He loves to sit on your feet and he especially loves apples!
Oliver was never a good learner when it came to tricks, so he has no special
talents. Except he's especially good at catching Popcorn! He's always been a
well-behaved boy, never jumps on people or runs out of the yard. He never
barks excessively. He's very good with other animals. For most of Oliver's
life there has been a cat in the house until recently when P-Chan passed away
in August. He doesn't mind cats one bit. He takes everything in stride. I
recently had to cat-sit my daughter's two cats, (she is in the Navy and was
going out to sea) and Oliver was wondering what those cats were getting so
riled up about... "geez, didn't you guys ever see a dog before?" Eventually
Isabelle and Ozzy learned that Oliver was not a threat and cohabitated quite
well together, even sleeping close to one another.
I recently acquired a Guinea Pig and Ollie is just a little curious but not
fazed by the addition. He's a very laid-back dog. He loves to be with his
people. When I am at work, he happily spends the day with my elderly mother
who gives him his apple each day, and he'll stare her down until he gets it
too! When I come home he will share his presence between both of us but he
will always sleep in my room or in the hallway nearby. I can't say enough
times that he is just the sweetest dog there ever was. He even takes his
medicine like a good boy. He's not fond of baths but will be very tolerant of
them. He will fetch a ball but it's anybody's guess if he will bring it
back... and you can always count on him to sit on your feet and keep them
warm. I call him my "Foot-Sitter."
He used to love to go for long walks with me but his age has kept us from this
activity, he seems to be getting arthritis. I love this little dog more than
any pet I ever had. He's just the best, most easy going dog ever.
