This
is a picture of Monty. Although Monty is almost nine years old, don't tell him
that - he thinks he is still a puppy! The world is his to explore, enjoy,
and conquer!!!
He lives in Wesley Chapel, Florida, with his mommy/girlfriend/best friend
(me!) and has since he was 1 1/2 years old. Even though he is eight years old,
he thinks he is eight months old. He life revolves around kisses and playtime.
If you pay attention to Monty, he is in love with you, and will be your
friend forever. And, he does not discriminate - he will chase, and try to
conquer, anything that moves when he is outside: a leaf, piece of paper,
squirrel, bird, etc.
Monty's life consists of good-morning kisses before breakfast, then
playtime before dinner with kisses in between, then good night kisses. He
loves to make me chase him with his very favorite toy, Squeaky Green
Monster, and he is only interested in toys that squeak. He does have a few
funny tricks: his dog leash hangs on the door knob, and within a few days
he began hitting it with his nose when he wanted to go for a walk. If I
put the leash on him, but take too long putting my jacket on or whatever,
he grabs the handle-end of the leash and "walks" himself around the living room!
The breed personality is very loving, and willing to please; although
Bedlington Terriers can be quite independent, and will "take over" if you
let them. This includes their home or yours! In other words, every dog toy
is theirs, every home is theirs, etc.; however, they will share it with you!
When we go for a ride in the car, he leans over the back seat and gives me
a kiss, as if to say "thank you" for taking me!
He is one happy boy!
