This
is Frodo Baggins. Frodo absolutely loves to swim! In fact, he loves
to swim so much that he actually got me into paddling! Frodo loves to swim
right beside my kayak. You will most likely find us paddling at Lake
Arthur in Moraine State Park, PA. However, he has also paddled the
Allegheny River, Pymatuning Lake, various ponds and creeks in Pennsylvania
and even along the coastal region of Maine!
Frodo recognizes hand signals to move left, right and "land" to swim to
shore. He's even teaching our second white lab to follow these commands while
swimming. Frodo knows well over 35 commands and is extremely intelligent.
He brings the remote control, will ring the bell to go outside, will ring
the bell to let the cats in and out and will also pull open our front door
to let himself out! He will bring a pillow, blanket and slippers upon
request. He's even been known to help carry in the groceries from the car,
especially if his treats are inside the bag! When he's not swimming,
you'll find Frodo chewing his kong or wrestling with our other lab,
Pippin. Frodo weighs in at about 110 pounds and is solid muscle. Don't let his
big size fool you... he truely is a gentle giant! Frodo is extremely
friendly, laid back and always has a doggy smile and a wagging tail! He
takes pride in giving "high fives" from either paw! He's paw-sitively the
perfect dog!!
The photo of Frodo on the moss-covered rocks was taken in Allegheny
National Forest. His other picture was taken at Lake Arthur with my
husband; Jack. Frodo loves to jump out of the water like a dolphin! He's awesome!
