Winston
is special because he purrs like a cat when his ears are
scratched. Also, he can still run like the wind and loves chasing
squirrels in our backyard.
The second picture is Winston with his best pal Harry, a six-year-old
Lab/Shepherd mix. See how he usually blinks to avoid the flash? He hides
his unique trait of one blue and one brown eye. Winston is a big actor. If
it is cold outside, he'll start shivering a full ten minutes before he has
to go outside in the morning.
He thinks he is human, and definitely knows his pecking order within the
family. He is # 1. He remembers visitors and goes crazy whenever we tell
him my sister is coming over. He is very affectionate, and my fireman
friend Dave says he is the "neediest" dog he has ever seen. Tough words to
a Dalmatian from a fireman.
Winston is a fan of anything on our plates, and drools incessantly when it
is dinner time for the humans. He gets carrots, green beans, mushrooms and
many other odd treats which he devours hungrily.
Our veterinarian says he is the most fit Dal she sees, amazing at twelve years
old. He sits, lays down, speaks and places like a champ - leaping and
accomplishing the feat in one move. He tries to anticipate the commands
when a treat is involved, and shows off even before the command is made.
