I
got Cloe in August 2001 from a local breeder during a time that I was
unemployed for twelve months and raising her was like having a new child
(literally) in our house. I was up every two hours or so to take her outside to
do her business and my crate-training lasted all of a minute. I couldn't keep
hearing her whimper, even though she was right next to the bed, so I took her
out of the crate, and our bed became her bed, to this day!!
She has an other Dal "brother" and they get along great along with two younger
dogs, that have been welcomed to our home. I feel like Noah at times with all
the animals (four dogs and two cats) and fur is on everything, but we wouldn't have
it any other way. Cloe and I were watching the Today Show when the tragic
events of 9/11 happened and I was glad that she was part of the family that
day, when so many others, lost their family members. One last thing... a lot
of people ask "Aren't Dalmatians full of energy?" well, at this house, they
have a dog door to come and go, but most of their time is spent snoozing on
the couch as the picture shows :).
