Skitz
is rescue dog adopted from a no-kill shelter. She had been rescued
from a life at a puppy mill. She was infected with so many fleas that she
had to be shaved to control them. Her tail must have been broken as it has
a 90-degree turn at the end about 1/2 inch long. There also appears to be
a BB lodged at the base of one ear. When we got her home we nursed her and
got rid of her fleas and she became a very healthy dog. At first she was
quite shy and spent most of her time under the dining room table. In this
picture she had been with us for about a week. She is looking out from
under the table and seems to be thinking who are you and so shy wondering
if all will be ok.
Skitz was never taught to play and to this day still doesn't. She finally
she came out of her shell and asks me for treats and tells me when she
wants to go outside. She is now very happy and always wagging her tail and
spinning in circles when she wants something. She has a Boston Terrier,
Bryn, as a companion and follows him when they go out into the yard. They
both like to chase the rabbits and squirrels. They work as a team, but
just can't quite catch them.
