About Us
Roo, the Dog of the Day
Name: Roo
Age: Two years old
Gender: Female Breed: Beagle
Home: California, USA

This is my dog Roo, she is one of the biggest joys of my life. She is a two-year-old lemon and white beagle. Other than providing my boyfriend and I with love and happiness, Roo spends much of her time sunbathing in the warm California sun. One of the best things about Roo is how truly happy she is when we come home, she runs to us and not only does her tail wag so fast it practically propels her forward, her entire little butt moves back and forth and she does a little wiggle dance that always makes me smile. She is a sensitive dog that could only hurt that occasional house fly that made the mistake of crossing paths with our little hunter. Not only is she adorable, she is also very smart. Roo does several tricks including the basics of sit and lay down but also is excellent at giving high fives, crawling on her belly, rolling over and one of my favorites is what we call "bang." We point our fingers at her and say "bang" like we've shot her and she will lay flat on her back with her paws in the air.

My favorite thing about having my cute little beagle is her big beagle ears, it's the cutest thing in the world when she runs around and they just flap about, and when she plays with other dogs they are an obvious nibbling target, but since she is such a sweetheart she never lets it bother her. Roo is not only wonderful with other dogs she is also great with people and children. She's a delicate girl and sensitive too. When she was a small puppy we couldn't leave the house without her sad little puppy cries that would just about break our hearts and when we would come back you could still hear her crying from the front door, but as soon as she saw that we were home her sad little beagle face would turn into an expression of great excitement.

Above all these wonderful things that Roo does is she takes care of me and my boyfriend, helping to bring us together when things aren't running so smoothly and along with that she is a great comfort, to us. Whenever we are down, she comes up to us and rests her head and paws on us letting us know that she's there for us. I can't imagine a better pet than my Roo, she really is a best friend, even our friends love Roo, offering to take her to dog beach for us, or join us on our walks. Roo is a great cuddle buddy and since we adopted her when she was two months old we have been thankful to have someone to love us so unconditionally and we can't help but feel the same.
