This
is Theo. We call him Theo Wonder Basset. He turned ten on August 1, 2009.
He is a classic Basset Hound. He was rescued him from a bad situation in the
Boise, Idaho area, with us driving more than ten hours, one-way, to get him! He
weighed in at a whopping 132 pounds! He'd been overfed people-food for many,
many years. We helped him transition to the life of a real dog, with the help
of his two new brothers, Jim Dandy and Dood. He now weighs around 95 pounds. He
loves to nap, whoof at passing walkers, and get his belly rubbed. He is never
afraid of anything, except when he hears his bath water running... and he
tries to get away as fast as his six-inch legs can take him!
Theo lives "out in the country" in Corvallis, Oregon. His favorite foods
include freshly-baked Great Harvest bread, Christmas candy, and Petroleum
Jelly! However, we spend a lot of time keeping those foods out of his
reach and instead offer him 1.5 cups of Purina One Dog Chow and two
Milkbone Dog Biscuits each day. He drinks a lot of water and waddles about
the neighborhood, looking for friends and unwatched food, trash, and
beverages. Everyone around here knows Theo and some take a moment to pet
him. He's a smelly boy, though, which means that, if one chooses to pet
him, they must honestly love him.
