My
real name is Sparky, but everyone calls me Boo-dee. I guess my mom gave me
this nickname because I am a little dog - I only weigh about ten pounds, can
run at lightening speed, and am happy all the time. I have a good outlook on
life and love people - old, young, kids, well, everybody!! I live in a house
with a huge, fenced-in back yard that has a lot of trees. I love my yard!!!
When I first go out, I like to walk the perimeter of the fence to check out
the scene. Usually, I find an old bone or treat that I have stashed away and
forgotten about. Then, I go over to the big tree in the middle of the yard as
this is where my friends, the squirrels, live and hang out. They run up and
down and around the tree and I try to get them, but have never been
successful. More than a few times, I have chased them in the yard, but they
always outrun me. I also like going for walks on the leash and riding in the
car to my grandma's house. I don't mind too much all the snow we had last
winter, but I hate rain! And I never go outside on cloudy days. On rainy or
cloudy days, I spend most of my time in my playroom, where my mom has set up
my bed, stuffed toys, and chewies. Or, I will lie on the bed or couch and
look out the window. I try to see if my squirrel friends are out there in the
yard.
I love other dogs, especially my cousin Balto, a black lab who lives in
Massachusetts. He, along with his family, comes to visit me every summer. We
have a great time playing in the back yard, wrestling over stuffed toys.
There are not enough hours in the day when Balto comes because we have so much
fun!
My favorite hobby is chewing up my stuffed toys to get the "squeaker" out.
This may take me hours, but I enjoy it. Once the stuffing and squeaker is
out, I still like to play with the empty shell of the giraffe, elephant, lamb,
tiger, or whatever it was. I think I make my mom and my other family members
really happy. I am glad! I love them and I know they love me! My worst
experience ever was when I was walking on my leash in the park and went into
some really cool bramble bushes and got some nasty thorns in my fur.
Fortunately for me, my mom got them out.
