This
precious Shiba Inu is named Bodhi, after Patrick Swayze in the movie
"Point Break." He loves going for rides, eating Vienna Sausages,
and playing with any and every other kind of dog from Rottweilers to Jack
Russells. He is a skillful jumper and sometimes hops the fence to chase a
cat or two! He definitely runs the house and our lives revolve around his
needs!
He was my 2008 Christmas present from my boyfriend and quite frankly, the best
present I have ever received! Our neighborhood is full of cats and sometimes I
think that Bodhi thinks he is one of them. When he isn't trying to sneak a nap
on our bed, he is perched on the back of the couch looking out the window or
cleaning himself. Sometimes I think his internal clock must be a Timex because
when it is time for us to come home from work he waits eagerly by the backdoor
for me and by the front door for my boyfriend.
Bodhi is extremely independent and is perfectly content snuggling up on a
throw rug on the floor, but when he senses something is wrong or that I just
need a hug, he is the first man on the job! He always seems to be fully aware
of what is going on. We don't have the typical "Shake" or "Kisses" commands
for him, but rather "High Fivers" and "Lub Lubs"... which he fully understands,
but is sometimes reluctant to perform unless we have treats-in-hand! (He can
very easily be bribed with yogurt, cheese, ham, or an empty ice cream bowl in
need of a good licking). When we first got him he was terrified of the world,
and now, he rules it! Oh, and did I mention he is a Buffalo Bills fan? He
loves watching football!
