Fritz,
a "Miniature" (25 pounds!) Schnauzer came to us from Louisiana a year
and a half ago. He is between five and seven years old, sadly we are not sure
since he was dumped at a shelter in Louisiana. He was rescued (ironically) by
Golden Retriever Rescue Lifeline from Biddeford, Maine and came up to New
England to live in his forever home! He is reactive, grumpy, and can't walk
up stairs to save his life, but he is also adorable, sweet, funny, cuddly,
communicative, and smart (and stubborn) - he's outwitted Airedales! We could
not love him more. I am a first-time dog owner, and I'm so glad we did
positive reinforcement training from the beginning. It has formed a strong
relationship.
Fritz loves: cuddles, back scratches, freeze dried duck and salmon, marrow bones,
boiled egg, terriers, ladies
Fritz hates: precipitation, big dogs, big trucks, big men, middle school boys, stairs
Some of our favorite things he does that melt us every time:
- when he is playing by himself or with doggie friends, he will run
over to check in, give a kiss and then run back to play
- when the pack is all back together (everyone is home from work, or
we run into someone he loves on a walk) he throws back his head and
gives a "happy howl"
- rests his chin on our arms, legs, hands, etc. and pushes down really
hard contentedly.
