Introducing
Bowzer Joe Pokorney a.k.a. Bowzer. When we first met Bowzer in
July of 2006, he was living at the Charlotte Animal Control - picked up as a
stray. He had been there for three weeks just waiting for a forever family to
come and take him home with them. At the time, he weighed about 35 pounds and
was slightly larger than what I had in mind, but when I took one look at
those soulful eyes and saw his constantly wagging tail, I knew he was the one
for us. Every day he is a delight with his playful antics - we don't think
he'll ever grow up! The best part: the unconditional love he shows: he'll run
to greet those that you love, thrives on attention, and snuggles when someone
has had a bad day. We could all take a lesson from this loving canine that is
such a part of our family!
He is special to us simply because he gives the most unconditional love of
any pet I've ever had. I think it's because he so grateful for his forever
family. He knew what life was like on the other side. He doesn't really know
any tricks, but I believe he can understand any word in the English
dictionary. If I tell him one time, he remembers it. He is very smart. I
actually believe he's a person in a dog's body, however much more intuitive
than most people I know! He is very loving and absolutely has to be where
there is another human being. He makes friends very easily - there is not a
mean-spirited bone in his body. I really believe his story is a testament to
adopting shelter pets. He is part of the Success Story board at Animal
Control and has also been featured by Invisible Fence. He is very precious to
us in every way.
