This
is Skya, the craziest little husky you'll ever see. She's small
and cute, weighing in at around thirty pounds, she's literally half
the size of my largest husky, Nebo. She thinks she's the biggest
though. She acts tough with other dogs, never backing down on a game
of tug, especially with her lab/pit mix buddy, Killer, who is also
twice her size. As you can see with the muddy photo, she's not afraid
to get dirty either.
She and her "sister" Keva are the terrible twosome and love getting
into trouble. She's always been very weird with strangers, even as a
tiny puppy she did not want to be near people she didn't know.
Socializing her and taking her to puppy classes didn't help, it
actually seemed to make her worse, she really only likes people she
knows. She's a complete nut, I've never met another dog like her. But
she loves me, she's my shadow and the only husky who will consistently
come to me when called. She's very affectionate to those she's
comfortable with; she loves to have her neck scratched. She enjoys
walks and hikes, and of course, playing in the snow. She is super fast
and can outrun all of the other dogs, often leaping right over them
like its nothing. I didn't intend to get another husky, but I couldn't
resist - and I'm glad that I have her. She's a little quirky, but
she's a beautiful, sweet pup, which is what makes her special.
You can read more about Skya and her buddies at the The Husky Dog Blog.
