My
name is Cassie, I was a little three-legged orphan with the same name as my
Mom. When my Dad saw may name in the paper they came to the place and told
the lady keeping me that I had a new home for ever. It has been fourteen years
(human time). To tell my story now, not long ago, a lot of Firemen and
other people came in our house and took my daddy away on a bed. And for a lot
of days my Mom told me he would be home, but I waited and waited and finally
all my folks put me in the car and after a short trip I was helped out of the
car and there was my dad and you can see I am so happy! My Dad is home now and
I am happy every day!
Cassie is the prettiest dog in the neighborhood. She was a seven-month-old
orphan when the fire department in Tarrant AL took her in and fed her from
their lunches and left a hose bib dripping so she could get a drink. Sadly,
she was asleep under the truck and when they went on a run they ran over her.
They took up enough money to have her leg removed and put her up for adoption.
I saw the ad in the paper and since we had had a three-legged male dog for
sixteen years, and he had died, we had to go see this one. When she came into
the room she took one look at me and said "That's my sucker for life!" She was
so right. She has lived in Hoover, AL since she was eight months old. And she
makes her Human Dad take her for a daily walk around Star Lake where many many
people and dogs know her.
