Our
family bought him on Mother's Day of 2000. He was only six weeks old. He
was a very playful little pup and chewed on everything, from toys to
chairs to shoes. On his first birthday, we threw a birthday party for
him. He got many toys, and he still has most of them today. Every year
for his birthday, he earns a vanilla cupcake ;). When Hank was four
years old, he broke his back by jumping off the couch one too many
times. He was taken to the animal emergency hospital and was kept over
night. Our family was devastated. Thankfully, he didn't need surgery,
although he had to stay in his kennel for three months until his back
was healed. We are so grateful that he is okay.
As the years have passed, Hank isn't as playful as he was when he was a pup.
His face has also gotten more gray. But that doesn't stop us from loving
him. Now he enjoys to sleep and visit his friend Peperooda the
Papillion across the street. Hank is our little cuddle bug. When he sleeps, he
curls up in a ball to keep warm. Most of the time, he snores too. When he is
in bed with his family, he likes to sleep on the left side of his Mommy, being
"closest to the heart" :). Last fall, Hank got a little sister. Her name is
Nelli and she just adores her big brother. They look like twins and they love
to play together. We love our Hank so much and are so thankful that he is in
our lives.
He's a very mellow kind of fellow and loves to spend most of his days sleeping
under his blanket. Although, sometimes his "wild child" mood comes out and he
loves to play. He's very sweet with people and loves to be pampered with love
and chicken :). Sometimes he gets annoyed by his little sister, Nelli and will
wrestle her to the ground to show that he is the boss around the house! He
enjoys going over to see his best friend
Peperooda
who lives across the street. Hank loves to steal Pepper's bones and carry them
back to his house. Over the years, he's been getting gray, but as I said, that
doesn't stop us from loving him! He's the best dog we could ever have and we
love him so extremely much.
